ABSTRACT:
An anti-lock regulating system for brakes associated with wheels, has a first brake circuit including the brake of at least one wheel; a braking pressure regulating device for altering the braking pressure when the wheels have a tendency to lock; a hydraulic braking pressure generator coupled to the first brake circuit through the braking pressure regulating device; a second brake circuit including the brake of at least one other wheel; and a hydraulic control valve connecting the second brake circuit with the hydraulic braking pressure generator. The hydraulic control valve has a normally open position and a closed position. There is further provided a control piston having opposite first and second faces. The first face of the control piston is exposed to a pressure P.sub.R ' which is dependent from the braking pressure P.sub.R prevailing in the second brake circuit. Further, a control chamber bounded by the second face of the control piston is connected to the braking pressure regulating device through a throttle. The second face of the control piston is exposed to a pressure P.sub.St ' which is dependent, through the throttle, from the pressure P.sub.St as set by the braking pressure regulating device. The control piston, which is connected to the hydraulic control valve, is, in response to a predetermined ratio P.sub.R '/P.sub.St ' on the control piston faces, displaced for first closing the control valve and subsequently, as a result of a continuing displacement, effecting an increase in the volume accommodating hydraulic fluid between the control valve and the wheel brake associated with the second brake circuit.
