ABSTRACT:
Polyurethane polymers having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein each Y is an --NH-- group, Z is an optionally substituted divalent hydrocarbon radical and n is an integer of at least 2; their preparation by reacting 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol and a diisocyanate Z(NCO).sub.2 and the use of the polymers for the protection of various media against attack by microorganisms.
