An ankle support including a first member in the form of an envelope for enclosing a major ankle portion and which holds a relatively separate stiff brace in position with respect to the wearer's ankle such that portions of the brace are respectively generally forward and above the wearer's malleoli so as to simultaneously reduce ankle eversion and inversion.
