ABSTRACT:
An ankle brace having an upper portion adapted to extend about a wearer's ankle above a malleoli. The upper portion having at least one anchor site. A foot section conforming to a portion of a sole of the wearer's foot and an elastic lateral connection extending between the foot section and the upper portion enabling normal range of movement of the ankle and becoming increasingly taut at about the limit of either the normal or a preset range of movement. The anchor site having a pad with holes to which the skin of the foot conforms so as to adhere the pad to the skin. Suction cups and adhesive may also be used alternatively or in combination to adhere the pad to the skin of the wearer's foot.
