ABSTRACT:
The present invention10discloses an anchor fastener for mating parts to a channel30for, e.g., the attachment of muntin in a window14design. The end clip15of the preferred embodiment is comprised of molded polymeric material having means for aligning the clip with a channel and means for locking the clip to the channel. The clip is comprised of a base16having an upwardly extending post18that forms means for mounting other parts to the fastener. The post18can be of any shape, size or length depending on the part to be mated onto the post. Three spaced apart rails24, 26are formed under the base16to transversely engage the channel30with the center rail24also having a transverse slot36for matingly locking with the channel. The channel30has spaced apart notches32with tabs34positioned therebetween on opposing sides of the channel. The outside rails24of the fastener matingly engage the notches32with the center rail26having the transverse slot36for engaging and encompassing the channel tabs34thereby locking the fastener to the channel. The present invention10provides for an alternative design wherein a channel30has a notch forming an alignment for the end clip fastener with the center rail26of the fastener mating to the notch wherein the outside rails26of the fastener have transverse slots36for engaging the opposing flanges38of the channel30.
