ABSTRACT:
A phosphite is provided having the formula: ##STR1## wherein Y.sup.1 is an alkyl group and Y.sup.2 is selected from the group consisting of sec-butyl and tert-butyl. A solid amorphous phosphite composition is also provided which preferably contains an aliphatic polyamine. The phosphite exhibits enhanced stability including hydrolyric and UV stability, and is useful in stabilizing thermoplastic compositions. The phosphite composition exhibits further enhancements in hydrolytic stability, and is useful in stabilizing thermoplastic compositions.
