ABSTRACT:
An iron based, boron, silicon, carbon and chromium containing magnetic alloy having at least 85 percent of its structure in the form of an amorphous metal matrix is annealed at a temperature and for a time sufficient to induce precipitation therein of discrete particles of its constituents and to form an oxide layer on the surface of the matrix. The resulting alloy has decreased high frequency core losses and increased low field permeability; is particularly suited for high frequency applications.
