ABSTRACT:
Aluminum base alloys, having improved properties as regards mechanical working treatments, according to the invention are characterized by a content of 0.5 - 10.0 wt. % iron, without or with a very small content (up to 0.1 wt. %) of Li or Na or Sr or Ba. The alloy has a microstructure comprising a substantial portion of refined Al.sub.3 Fe and/or very fine Al.sub.6 Fe.
