ABSTRACT:
The invention provides a process for the manufacture of a crystalline, phosphorus-containing zeolite of the ZSM-5 type by mixing water, a silicon dioxide source, an alkali metal hydroxide and an aluminum compound, and reacting this mixture at a temperature of from 95.degree. to 230.degree. C. until the zeolite has crystallized, which comprises carrying out the reaction without addition of an organic compound but in the presence of aluminum phosphate. The zeolite obtained has the following molar ratios:
