An alumino earth-alkali silicate glass for lamp bulbs of tungsten halogen incandescent lamps has the following glass composition (% by weight) that reduces discoloration during operation of the lamp bulb:SiO255.0–62.5  Al2O314.5–18.5  B2O30.8–4.0  BaO7.5–17.0 CaO6.5–13.5 MgO1.0–5.5  SrO0–2.0ZrO20–1.5TiO20–1.0ZnO0–0.5CeO20–0.3R2O<0.03H2O0.025–0.042.
