ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to alternating copolymers having the formula ##STR1## wherein one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 in each repeating unit is hydrogen and the others of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 in each repeating unit are CN or COOR.sup.5, wherein R5 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl; and n is from 10 to 5,000. This invention further relates to a process for preparing such alternating copolymers by copolymerization of appropriate alkenyl isocyanates and electron deficient olefins.
