ABSTRACT:
A diamine derivative expressed by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 stand, independently from each other, for a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group. The diamide derivative is useful as an ionophore which can selectively transport cupric ions through liquid membranes.
