ABSTRACT:
Resorcylic acid lactone compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein -A- is either --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 -- or --CH.dbd.CH; >Z is either >CH.sub.2, >C.dbd.0 or >CH-OH; and R and R.sub.1 are either H or a C.sub.3 group selected from propyl and --CH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, and are different from each other. Such compounds and their derivatives are provided as growth promoting agents for animals, e.g. ruminants and poultry.
