ABSTRACT:
Terpolymers of a monovinyl aromatic monomer such as styrene, a C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 allylic alcohol such as allyl alcohol and an ester of a C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 allylic alcohol and a C.sub.7 -C.sub.12 monovalent aromatic acid, wherein the terpolymer preferably contains an average of from about 2 to 4 allylic alcohol units and at least one allylic ester per molecule. The terpolymers are used in surface coatings in blends with acrylic resins and nitrocelluloses. Blends of the terpolymers with polyols and polyisocyanates yield polyurethanes.
