ABSTRACT:
Alkyl-p-pivaloylbenzylaminomethyl-benzophenones, e.g., 4-{[methyl(p-pivaloylbenzyl)amino]methyl}benzophenone, are prepared by treating a corresponding 4-benzoyl-N-alkyl-benzylamine with a corresponding .alpha.-halo-p-pivaloyl toluene and are useful as hypolipidemic agents.
