ABSTRACT:
Process for making alkyl-.omega.-fluoroformyl esters of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is CH.sub.3 or C.sub.2 H.sub.5 and n is 0 or an integer from 1 to 3, by reacting the methyl or ethyl ester of trifluoropyruvic acid with hexafluoropropene oxide in the presence of fluoride ion catalyst, in an aprotic liquid medium; and the ester wherein n=0.
