ABSTRACT:
An airbag control apparatus has an acceleration detecting section11for detecting acceleration in the longitudinal direction and lateral direction of a vehicle1; a collision decision section12for making a decision about a frontal collision and side-impact collision of the vehicle in response to the detection outputs of the acceleration detecting section11; and a driving section13for inflating airbags14mounted in the front or sides of the vehicle in response to the decision output of the collision decision section12. The collision decision section suppresses the decision about the side-impact collision in accordance with collision information in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle contained in the detection outputs of the acceleration detecting section.
