ABSTRACT:
Air fireable nickel boride-based end termination compositions for multilayer capacitors are provided. The nickel boride compounds utilized are either (Ni.sub.3 B).sub.a (Ni.sub.3 Si).sub.b or Ni.sub.3 B.sub.1-x P.sub.x and the compositions also contain a glass whose component oxides have a redox potential of less than -0.5 volt. These compositions, upon firing, afford conductors such as end terminations in multilayer capacitors having excellent solderability and solder leach resistance, adhesion to dielectric substrates and electrical properties substantially equivalent to standard silver/palladium conductors.
