An air-conditioning apparatus1for a vehicle has an air supply duct6for supplying air and a vent40communicating with the air supply duct6for blowing the air into a compartment of the vehicle. The direction of the air blown from the vent40is adjustable. The air supply duct6includes a branch chamber14, 16for reducing flow speed of the air flowing through the air supply duct6so that the speed-reduced air in the branch chamber14, 16is blown from the vent40.
