ABSTRACT:
An air bag1is provided. At a vehicle side impact, the air bag1unfolds from an upper part of a vehicle body downwardly. The air bag1includes an airbag body10having an inside foundation cloth8aand an outside foundation cloth8b, and a pair of inner-cloths19a, 19barranged in the airbag body10. The inside inner-cloth19ais joined to the outside inner-cloth19bthrough two inner junctions21, 21separated from each other in a fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle. The inner-cloths19a, 19bhave front ends, rear ends and intermediate portions between the inner junctions21, 21, all of which are joined to the foundation cloths8a, 8bthrough overlapping junctions22a, 22b. In arrangement, the overlapping junctions22aof the inside inner-cloth19aare shifted from the overlapping junctions22bof the outside inner-cloth19bforwardly. Consequently, triple-layer tubular expansion chambers25a, 26, 25bare defined in the airbag body10, allowing a passenger's head to be received certainly.
