ABSTRACT:
In order to ensure the strength of an air bag door section17defined in an instrument panel main body1and reliably open the door section17upon activation of an air bag device42, an inventive vehicle interior trim article includes: a back-up plate20integrally connected to the bottom face of the door section17; and a frame body22for accommodating the air bag device42, wherein the back-up plate20is integrally formed with the frame body22via a hinge section24, and an extreme end20bof the back-up plate20detachably abuts against a top-side end face34of the frame body22. The back-up plate20and frame body22are molded so that the extreme end20bof the back-up plate20is spaced apart from the top-side end face34of the frame body22by a predetermined distance.
