ABSTRACT:
Lubricating oil additives are provided which have extreme pressure, antiwear and antioxidant properties. The additives are dithiophosphorous disymmetric bisulphides of the formula: ##STR1## wherein X and Y represent an oxygen or sulphur atom or a methylene group and R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 represent a hydrocarbon radical, a polyether, a polythioether or a hydrogen atom.
The invention also relates to a process for their preparation and to lubricating compositions containing the additives.
