Novel imidazole-5-carboxylic acid acylals of the general formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 denotes an optionally unsaturated, straight-chain alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 denotes hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, iodine or CF.sub.3 and R.sub.3 denotes C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 -alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 -cycloalkyl or benzyl, and their pharmaceutically tolerable salts.
