ABSTRACT:
Acrylate binders consist of (a) 38 to 98% by weight of a C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 -alkyl acrylate, (b) 1 to 6% by weight of (meth)acrylic acid, (c) 0 to 30% by weight of acrylonitrile, (d) 0 to 60% by weight of methyl methacrylate and (e) 0 to 10% by weight of one or more other comonomers containing no acid, basic or crosslinking groups and are obtainable by copolymerization of the monomers in the presence of 0.02 to 0.5% by weight of an organic peroxo compound and 1.0 to 5.0% by weight of an anionic emulsifier, the percentage data relating to the sum of (a) to (e), are particularly suitable for dressing leather.
