ABSTRACT:
Covers a new composition of matter comprising an acrylamide or methacrylamide monomer characterized by the following structural formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is hydrogen or methyl, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are lower alkyl, R.sub.4 is a linear or branched alkyl group containing 7-20 carbon atoms, X is an anion of an organic or mineral acid having a valence m and A is a divalent lower alkyl group.
