ABSTRACT:
Disclosed are methods of isolation and purification of active constituents from Hsian-ssu-tsu (Abrus precatorius L.), and the therapeutical applications of the purified compounds. From the cloroform fraction of the methanolic extract of the roots of Abrus precatorius L., Abruquinones A, B, D, E, F, which are shown as Compounds I through V, respectively, as follows: ##STR1## were isolated and identified Pharmacological evaluations showed that these compounds possess an activity to inhibit platelet aggregation, as well as antiinflammatory, and antiallergic activities.
