ABSTRACT:
An auger-type ice making machine has an abnormality detecting device which detects a freezing of an ice-scraping auger on the basis of a hunting of current flowing through an auger motor25. Current flowing through the auger motor25is taken out by a current-voltage converter45, and an instantaneous value of the taken-out voltage,waveform every predetermined time is A/D converted by an A/D converter52which is provided at a controller board50. A microcomputer51detects a peak value from the A/D converted instantaneous value for determining that abnormal current flows through the auger motor25, when a hunting of the peak value occurs a predetermined number of times or more that is not less than 2 during a predetermined time, or when the state where the hunting of the peak value occurs a predetermined number of times or more that is not less than 2 during a first predetermined time is detected a predetermined number of times or more that is not less than 2 during a second predetermined time that is longer than the first predetermined time. As for the number of hunting times, a state wherein the peak value once becomes greater than a predetermined value, and then, becomes smaller than the predetermined value is counted as one number of hunting times.
