Certain 6-halo-7,8-dimethoxy-1-(methoxyphenyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benzazepine s and N-[2-(2-halo-3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)ethyl]-2-hydroxy-2-(methoxyphenyl)ethylam ines are intermediates for preparing 6-halo-7,8-dihydroxy-1-(hydroxyphenyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benzazepine s which are peripheral dopaminergic agents.
