ABSTRACT:
A new intermediate used in the preparation of new semisynthetic cephalosporins is 5-sulfomethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol which is prepared by a reaction sequence starting with p-methoxybenzyldithiocarbazate and chloroacetyl chloride.
