ABSTRACT:
Disclosed are ((4-phenyl-1,2,5--thiadiazol-3-yl)oxy)methyl ester thiocyanic acid compounds corresponding to the formula: ##STR1## wherein X represents --Br, --Cl, --F, --CF.sub.3, --OCF.sub.3, --CN, C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 straight or branched chain alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 straight or branched chain alkoxy or --COOR wherein R is --H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 straight or branched chain alkyl and n is an integer of from 0-5.
These compounds have been found to exhibit antimicrobial and marine antifouling activity in industrial and commercial applications and compositions containing these compounds are so employed.
