ABSTRACT:
Novel 4-aryl-or heteroaryl-2,6-bis[(substituted-amino)phenyl]pyridines which are useful as color formers in pressure-sensitive carbonless duplicating systems and thermal marking systems are prepared by reacting a 2-, 3- or 4-R.sub.1 R.sub.2 N-acetophenone with an aryl or heteroaryl aldehyde in the present of ammonia or an ammonia-releasing agent.
