ABSTRACT:
There is provided novel substituted 4-aryl-3-hydroxyquinolin-2-one derivatives of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or methyl;
R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each are independently hydrogen, bromo, chloro or trifluoromethyl, and when R.sup.1, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are hydrogen, R.sup.2 is nitro;
