ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to a novel organic compound, (3-trifluoromethyl)-benzoyl cyanide, and a process for the preparation thereof comprising
(a) converting (3-trifluoromethyl)-benzotrichloride to the corresponding benzoyl chloride,
b) cyanation of the benzoyl chloride to produce the corresponding benzoyl cyanide, (3-trifluoromethyl)-benzoyl cyanide.
