ABSTRACT:
3-Phenoxybenzylideneamines and 3-benzylbenzylideneamines of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is hydrogen or alkyl, R.sub.2 is alkyl, with alkyl groups denoted by R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together not containing more than 12 C atoms, or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together being alkylene having 4-11 C atoms, R.sub.3 is hydrogen, halogen, methyl or methoxy, and X.sub.1 is oxygen or --CH.sub.2 --; a process for obtaining them, and also their use for producing the corresponding aldehydes.
