ABSTRACT:
Disclosed is a process for preparing a 3-hydroxy-7-mercaptopyrazolo[4,3-d]pyrimidine compound represented by the general formula (IX): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a phenyl group or a substituted phenyl group, which comprises:
