3-cyano-4-phenyl-pyrroles of the formula ##STR1## in which R stands for halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, halogenoalkyl, halogenoalkoxy or halogenoalkylthio,
have been found. These compounds are useful as fungicides.
