ABSTRACT:
3-Chloro-8-cyanoquinolines of the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is --NR.sup.2 R.sup.3, and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are identical or different and are each hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkyl, formyl, cyclohexyl, or phenyl, or together are tetramethylene or pentamethylene, and one methylene group in these radicals can be replaced by oxygen, nitrogen or --N(CH.sub.3), are used for controlling undesirable plant growth.
