ABSTRACT:
A 3,4-pyridine-dithiol compound having formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X is chlorine or a trifluoromethyl group; and a method of producing the above 3,4-pyridine-dithiol compound having formula (I) by allowing a polyhalogenide pyridine compound having formula (II) to react with a hydrosulfide in a polar organic solvent in the presence of sulfur, and an iron powder or an iron salt: ##STR2## wherein X is chlorine or a trifluoromethyl group.
