ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to 2-phenoxy or 2-phenylthio anthraquinone compounds which bear a group of formula VI, ##STR1## bound to the para position of the phenoxy or phenylthio group, IN WHICH R.sub.3 is hydrogen; (C.sub.1-6)alkyl; (C.sub.1-3)alkyl monosubstituted by hydroxyl, cyano, (C.sub.1-2)alkylcarbonyloxy, (C.sub.1-2)alkoxycarbonyl or (C.sub.1-2)alkoxycarbonyloxy; (C.sub.2-6)alkenyl; phenyl; or tolyl;
