ABSTRACT:
The present invention concerns a novel process for preparing derivatives useful in the production of prostaglandins.
The present invention provides a process for the production of a compound of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a protecting group which comprises hydrolyzing a compound of formula II ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1 is as defined above and R.sub.2 is a leaving group, under acidic conditions.
