The present invention relates to 2-(imidazol-1-yl)-2 -benzylethylidene-aminoxyalkanoic acid derivatives of formula (I) ##STR1## wherein A is a divalent group of formula ##STR2## in which R is hydrogen, halogen, CF.sub.3, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylsulfonyl or cyano;
