Novel compounds of the formula ##STR1## where R is hydrogen, a physiologically acceptable metal or amine cation, or alkyl of one to eight carbon atoms, inclusive, R.sub.1 is hydrogen, a physiologically acceptable metal or amine cation, or alkyl of one to eight carbon atoms, inclusive, are formulated into pharmaceutical compositions useful for preventing allergic manifestations in sensitized mammals.
