ABSTRACT:
Benzimidazoles of the formula ##SPC1##
Wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen or an alkyl group which may optionally be substituted, R.sub.2 represents lower alkyl, and X is hydrogen, lower alkoxy or halo. The compounds are useful as intermediates for preparation of herbicides.
