As new compounds, 2-[4-(substituted aryloxy)phenoxy]-N-substituted phenylsulfonyl]propionamides having the formula ##STR1## wherein A is CH, or nitrogen, X is hydrogen or chlorine and Ar is phenyl or substituted phenyl.
