ABSTRACT:
A copolymer of 2,4-dimethyl-4-vinyl-1-cyclohexene and at least one member of the group consisting of 2,6- and 3,6-dimethyl-1,3,6-octatrienes, which copolymer is suitable for use as a tackifier, said copolymer consisting essentially of (A) structural units derived from 2,4-dimethyl-4-vinyl-1-cyclohexene and (B) structural units derived from at least one member selected from the group consisting of 2,6- and 3,6-dimethyl-1,3,6-octatriene in proportions of 100 moles of (A) to 1 to 400 moles of (B) and characterized by containing not more than seven unsaturated double bonds per 100 carbon atoms contained in its molecule and having a softening point of 85.degree.-160.degree.C. and an average molecular weight of 450-1850 is disclosed.
