ABSTRACT:
The 26 and/or 27 homologated analogs of 19-nor-1.alpha.,25-dihydroxyvitamin D.sub.3 are disclosed as having relatively high calcemic activity. The 26 and/or 27 homologated analogs showed strong in vivo calcium transport as well as bone calcium mobilization activity. These analogs also induced differentiation of malignant cells. These analogs thus show promise in the treatment of osteoporosis, and a possible use in the treatment of cancerous diseases.
