ABSTRACT:
1-N-(.omega.-Amino-.alpha.-hydroxyalkanoyl) derivatives of 4'-deoxy-6'-N-methylkanamycin A are prepared by multi-step processes beginning with 1,3-ureidokanamycin A. The compounds are potent antibacterial agents.
