ABSTRACT:
A method of preserving an aqueous system which is susceptible to microbiological degradation, comprising the step of adding to the system a compound having the formula ##STR1## wherein the compound is added in an amount sufficient to inhibit the growth and proliferation of at least one microorganism in the aqueous system.
The compound 1-methyl-3,5,7-triaza-1-azoniatricyclodecane triiodide and a method for preparing same comprising the substitution of triiodide anion for a monohalide anion in an aqueous medium.
