1-Methyl-1,2,5,6-tetrahydropyridine-3-carboxylic acid esters of the formula ##STR1## wherein R stands for an alkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms or an alkynyl group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms,
Or a salt thereof.
These compounds plus that where R is ethyl are used in combatting insects and acarids.
