ABSTRACT:
Novel 1-(2-Ar.sup.1 -4-Ar.sup.2 -1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)imidazoles, 1-[2-Ar.sup.1 -4-(Ar.sup.2 -oxymethyl)-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl]imidazoles, 1-[2-Ar.sup.1 -4-(Ar.sup.2 -thiomethyl)-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl]imidazoles, and 1-[2-Ar.sup.1 -4-(Ar.sup.2 -ethyl)-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl]imidazoles, useful as antifungal and antibacterial agents.
